Kholstomer
This book is based on the short story Kholstomer by Leo Tolstoy.
Using the writing technique of "defamiliarization" by adopting the perspective of the horse Kholstomér, this story reveals the irrationality of human conventions, such as taking a living animal and calling it one's own.
Kholstomer reflects on man's relationship with nature, but also on the inequalities between social classes, especially the treatment of the working class.
Mudaria pra isso: The core of the book is made of acetate, and each page contains a frament of the full illustration. The whole image is created by the stacking of the pages. As you turn each one, you eliminate pieces that form the whole image, actively removing everything that Kholstomer once had.
